Apple and Android ruled the Smartphones market

Apple and Android has taken over the smart phone market in the world and beat Nokia Corp. and Research in Motion Ltd.


Google Android devices and Apple dominate 62 percent of smart phone sales worldwide in 2011, the achievement was almost double the market share of Google's Android and Apple's last year, 32 percent, according to research firm Gartner Inc. report.




It was triggered by the increasing number of mobile phone manufacturers to offer Android phones with cheap price in the range of 100 dollars. In the first quarter of last year, a new Android smart phones contribute 10 percent of the global smart phone sales, and then increased to 17 percent in the next quarter. A year later, precisely at the end of second quarter 2011, contributing 43.4 percent of Android phones.
